Job summary

VanRath Search & Selection is recruiting an M&E Project Manager (Social Housing) in Belfast to lead significant mechanical and electrical maintenance programmes, typically with budgets above £1M. The role requires a relevant engineering degree, professional membership, and strong experience with NEC contracts and CAD.

You will manage delivery to time, quality and budget, while supporting carbon reduction initiatives and data management across assets.

Qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical engineering degree required.
• Full professional membership such as CEng / IEng / CIBSE or equivalent.
• Experience delivering large maintenance programmes (>= £1M) on time and to budget.
• Proficient with CAD and reporting tools for data management.
• Experience in social housing and NEC contracts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an efficient mechanical and electrical maintenance project works service within budgets.
• Ensure M&E installations are replaced/upgraded to high standard for tenants and staff.
• Collaborate with Sustainability & Energy teams to reduce carbon emissions toward Net Zero.
• Maintain asset database accuracy for M&E systems and data.
• Provide professional advice on M&E installations and interpret plans and specifications.
• Report regular progress to Head of Asset Projects and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure M&E work is completed to a high standard and compliant with regulations.

M&E Project Manager (Social Housing)

VANRATH are partnering with one of the largest Housing Associations in NI in their search for a M&E Project Manager.

Salary

This role offers c£44,392 pa plus excellent holiday allowance.

The Ideal person

• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree
• At least 3 years’ experience managing or delivering mechanical and/or electrical , contract management, professional services, or facilities management service.
• Experience in delivering significant programmes of maintenance (at least £1M) and managing them to quality, time, and budget.
• Proficient in the use of CAD
• Detailed technical knowledge and experience of mechanical and electrical installations in both a domestic and commercial environment.
• Experience in delivering VFM in Planned projects or similar.
• Demonstrable experience delivering to budget.
• Full professional membership such as CEng /IEng/ CIBSE or similar
• Social Housing experience and meeting the requirements of Tenants.
• Experience of NEC Contracts
• Experience using bespoke software packages for reporting and management of data.
• Experience mentoring of staff

Responsibilities

• To deliver an efficient mechanical and electrical maintenance \ project works service in accordance with Group policies, procedures and budgets.
• Ensure the Association’s mechanical and electrical installations are replaced and upgraded to a high standard to meet the needs of tenants and staff.
• To collaborate with the Sustainability & Energy Team to plan and deliver projects to reduce the Organisations carbon emissions and work towards Net Zero targets.
• To maintain the asset database in relation to mechanical and electrical systems and to improve the accuracy of data held.
• To carry out full appraisals of any problematic installations and make recommendations on actions.
• To provide detailed advice on mechanical and electrical installations and to assess and interpret plans, schematics and specifications.
• To provide the Head of Asset Projects with regular performance updates regarding delivery of the planned mechanical and electrical maintenance projects.
• To provide professional services and advice to internal stakeholders within the organisation.
• To ensure that mechanical & electrical work is completed to a high standard.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, Building Regulations, codes of practices, British Standards and Legislation in all Property related issues.
