Job summary

VanRath Search & Selection is recruiting an M&E Estates Officer for a large public sector organisation in Belfast on a 6 month contract with likelihood of permanent placement.

The role requires managing maintenance and major projects, ensuring compliance with health, safety and energy efficiency standards, and governance of budgets and contractors. A relevant degree or HND and NEBOSH or equivalent qualification are valued.

Qualifications

  • Must have 5+ years of relevant facilities/estates management experience.
  • Qualification in Health and Safety such as NEBOSH recommended.
  • Experience with CAD drawing software, and CAFM systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work with managers and contractors to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Assist in delivery of major/minor works and maintenance programmes.
  • Ensure governance in estates budget and procurement of contractors.
  • Deliver statutory/regulatory requirements for the estate and utilities energy efficiency.
  • Ensure facilities are managed to meet operational needs.

Job description

Salary: GBP38682 - GBP46580 per annum

M&E Estates Officer (Public Sector)

VANRATH are searching for an experienced M&E Estates Officer (Public Sector) for their client, a large Public Sector organisation based in Belfast on a 6 month contract with the likelihood of it leading to a permanent position.

Responsibilities
  • To work with managers and contractors to ensure compliance with the relevant statutory obligations including health and safety and environmental legislation, in the delivery of an effective estates management service.
  • To proactively assist in the delivery of major and minor works projects, reactive, remedial and planned maintenance programmes in a cost effective, structured and timely fashion.
  • To ensure compliance with financial and procurement rules and ensure good governance in the estates budget and management of contractors.
  • To enableClient to deliver its statutory and regulatory requirements including the delivery of planned, preventative and reactive maintenance programmes to address the issues in the estate.
  • To ensure utilities conservation and maximise energy efficiency for the future.
  • To ensure facilities are being managed in a consistent manner, meeting the Operational needs
The Ideal Person

Esstenial

Possess a relevant degree or HND, or equivalent, qualification in a relevant subject e.g. Energy and Building Services Engineering; Facilities Management; Electrical Engineering, Surveying, Construction in the Built Environment etc

OR

Have at least 5 years’ relevant management experience within the construction industry, in a Facilities/Estates management role

AND

Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering effective solutions for a facilities/estates function in 2 of the following 3 areas:

Building, Surveying and Maintenance

Mechanical Engineering Services

Electrical Engineering Services

  • Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.

Possess a qualification in Health and Safety such as the NEBOSH Certificate.

  • Have experience of working within the Health Sector, local government or wider public sector.
  • Demonstrable experience in the use of CAD architectural drawing software
  • Demonstrable experience in the use of CAFM software e.g. Micad, 3i etc
Remuneration

c£38,682 per annum + benefits.
