Job summary

Sphere Solutions in Cardiff is seeking an M&E Pre-Construction Manager to lead the M&E pre-construction process across education, commercial and public sector projects.

You will review mechanical and electrical designs, coordinate with consultants and subcontractors, identify risks and contribute to value engineering and cost/time improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in M&E pre-construction or building services management.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services design.
• Experience on large-scale projects in education, commercial or public sectors.

A leading construction contractor is looking to recruit an M&E Pre-Construction Manager to support the development of major construction projects across sectors including education, commercial and public buildings.

What you'll be doing

• Managing the M&E pre-construction process from initial tender through to handover to the delivery team
• Reviewing mechanical and electrical designs, specifications and technical information to ensure they meet project requirements
• Coordinating design development with consultants, subcontractors, architects and the wider pre-construction team
• Identifying design risks, technical challenges and opportunities to improve buildability and efficiency
• Supporting tender preparation, subcontractor enquiries, technical assessments and cost planning
• Contributing to value engineering exercises and identifying opportunities to improve cost and programme
• Ensuring M&E design information is coordinated and developed in line with project requirements and tender deadlines

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in an M&E pre-construction, design management or building services management role within construction
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services design and coordination
• Experience working on large-scale building projects, ideally within education, commercial or public sectors
• Ability to review technical designs, identify potential issues and work collaboratively with consultants and subcontractors
