360 Recruitment is recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Technical Services Manager for a main contractor, offering regional project leadership and a competitive package. You will oversee M&E technical delivery from tender through final account, ensuring buildability, compliance and value across multiple sites.

You will work with estimating, design and project teams to optimize procurement, manage risks and drive best practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' Mechanical & Electrical experience.
• Ideally mechanically biased with experience in main contractor or M&E subcontractor environments.
• HNC or HND in Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical building services.
• Experience supporting projects through pre-construction and delivery phases.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially aware with ability to identify and mitigate risks.
• Proactive, approachable and solutions-focused.
• Capable of influencing teams and driving best practice across multiple projects.

Are you an experienced M&E professional looking for a role where you can genuinely influence project outcomes, reduce risk and add value across an established construction business?

Our client is a successful and growing main contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects across multiple sectors. As part of their continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Mechanical & Electrical Technical Services Manager to provide technical leadership and oversight across both pre-construction and live projects.

This is a business-critical position that requires a commercially aware and technically strong M&E professional who can support project teams from tender stage through to final account, ensuring the highest standards of technical compliance, programme management and project delivery.

The Role

Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise across all mechanical and electrical aspects of the business.

You will work closely with estimating, commercial, design and operational teams, reviewing opportunities and risks during tender stages while supporting project delivery teams throughout construction.

The successful candidate will be viewed as the business's M&E specialist, providing practical solutions, identifying potential issues before they arise and ensuring subcontractor performance meets the company's expectations.

Key Responsibilities Pre-Construction

• Review tender documentation and identify M&E-related risks and opportunities
• Assess project requirements and advise on the most suitable supply chain partners
• Support estimating teams through the tender process
• Review subcontractor quotations to ensure compliance and identify omissions or risks
• Attend tender interviews on projects with significant M&E packages
• Ensure tender submissions are technically robust and fully coordinated from an M&E perspective
• Provide advice on buildability, procurement strategies and technical solutions

Project Delivery

• Support commercial teams with M&E procurement and subcontract package reviews
• Ensure subcontractor appointments reflect tender allowances and scope requirements
• Provide technical support to Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors and site teams
• Attend design and coordination meetings where required
• Support Design Managers with technical reviews and specialist input
• Review technical submissions, RFIs, drawings and installation proposals
• Regularly visit projects to monitor progress and identify potential delivery issues
• Assist site teams with statutory utility and service coordination
• Monitor commissioning programmes and ensure adequate time is allocated within project schedules
• Identify programme risks and advise project teams on mitigation strategies
• Provide technical support on complex final account negotiations and commercial matters

About You

• Minimum 10 years' Mechanical & Electrical experience
• Ideally mechanically biased with experience gained through either a main contractor or specialist M&E subcontractor
• HNC or HND qualified in Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong technical understanding of both mechanical and electrical building services
• Experience supporting projects through both pre-construction and delivery phases
