Job summary

Acorn Engineering Limited in Slough is seeking an experienced M&E Bid Manager to lead tender submissions from opportunity through to contract award. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, ensure bids are compliant, commercially sound, and aligned with company strategy, while driving winning proposals and client presentations.

Qualifications

• Proven bid management experience in M&E or building services.
• Strong commercial awareness with pricing and bid strategy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full bid process from opportunity assessment through submission and negotiation.
• Lead and coordinate estimating and bid teams to produce accurate, competitive tenders.
• Review and produce PQQs, tender responses, and technical submissions.
• Identify and assess new opportunities, advising on bid/no-bid decisions.
• Develop clear, compelling written proposals and client presentations.
• Manage tender portals and ensure all submissions meet client specifications and deadlines.
• Provide commercial insight and pricing strategy to maximise profitability.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Analyse bid outcomes and provide feedback to drive continuous improvement.
• Support the development of pricing models, reporting tools, and best practice across the business.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration between Sales, Mobilisation, and Operations teams.
