A growing specialist electrical, security and infrastructure contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Bid Manager to join its team in South East London. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the entire bid function, working closely with senior leadership to secure new business opportunities across electrical, M&E, security systems and public sector frameworks.

Duties
- Manage the full bid lifecycle from opportunity identification through to submission, debrief and project handover
- Review tender documentation, identify risks and produce compliant, high-quality bid responses
- Develop and manage bid programmes, ensuring all internal stakeholders meet key deadlines
- Write, review and quality-assure compelling bid content to a consistently high standard
- Coordinate bid review meetings with senior management prior to submission
- Prepare accurate cost estimates using labour, materials, subcontractor and overhead data
- Identify value engineering opportunities and strategies to improve margins and win rates
- Build strong relationships with clients, procurement teams and framework providers
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, tender interviews and client presentations where required
- Manage the handover of successful bids to delivery teams, ensuring all commercial and contractual information is transferred accurately
- Work collaboratively with operational and technical teams to ensure accurate and competitive submissions
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends and market intelligence to support future bidding strategy
Skills and Experience
Proven experience in Bid Management, Estimating or Tender Management within the electrical, mechanical, M&E, or wider construction sector
- Strong commercial acumen with experience preparing accurate cost estimates, pricing submissions and identifying value engineering opportunities
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality, persuasive tender responses and manage multiple bids to tight deadlines
- Confident working collaboratively with operational, technical and commercial stakeholders, with strong organisational and project management skills
- Knowledge of public sector procurement, PQQs/SQs, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and bid management or estimating software
