About the role

You will work closely with a transactions VAT Director and be a crucial member of the team, ensuring the successful delivery of interesting, challenging, and high-quality transactions tax technical projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Completing indirect tax due diligence projects, identifying VAT risks, and making commercial and practical recommendations to clients, including sellers and buyers of businesses.
2. Providing tax structuring advice before and after transactions to deliver VAT-efficient solutions for clients.
3. Developing junior team members through delegation, on-the-job coaching, and formal feedback.
4. Assisting in business development activities, including preparing proposals for new work and building relationships with clients and targets.

About the ideal candidate

• CTA qualification or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous experience at Manager level (or equivalent) or demonstrating the necessary skills for the role.
• Good knowledge of transaction work, either in a specialist capacity or as part of a broader role.
• Proven experience in client handling and relationship building.
• Strong coaching abilities and an inclusive approach to team development.
• Business development experience or interest is advantageous but not essential.
