About the role

You will work closely with a transactions VAT Director and be a crucial member of the team, ensuring the successful delivery of interesting, challenging, and high-quality transactions tax technical projects.

Responsibilities:

• Completing indirect tax due diligence projects, identifying VAT risks, and making commercial and practical recommendations to clients, who may be sellers or buyers of businesses.
• Delivering tax structuring advice before and after transactions to provide VAT-efficient solutions for clients.
• Developing junior team members, including delegation of appropriate work, on-the-job coaching, and providing formal feedback.
• Working alongside the transactions VAT Director to assist in business development, including proposal preparation and building client relationships.

About the ideal candidate

• CTA qualified or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience at Manager level (or equivalent) is necessary or demonstrated relevant skill set.
• Good knowledge of working on transactions, either in a specialist capacity or as part of a broader role.
• Proven experience in client handling and relationship building.
• Strong coaching abilities and an inclusive approach to people development and supervision.
• Business development experience or interest is advantageous but not essential.
