The role

The Financial Services team within S&M&A Operations is a successful, growing and supportive team that specialises in helping clients pre-transaction by assessing FS companies’ operations and technology, and identifying value creation opportunities. We also assist clients post-deal with fast-paced transformation programmes, including planning operational separations and mergers. Our team collaborates with PwC’s wider practice (e.g., Transaction Services, Strategy & Consulting) as part of our go-to-market approach.

We include both career consultants and industry professionals, welcoming diversity of experience in our hires.

The role may require some travel, but our clients are increasingly comfortable with remote work. We are committed to a collaborative work environment, typically working on-site at least 3 days a week, with flexibility based on mutual trust.

What your days will look like:

As a Senior Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Leading high-profile M&A transactions technology engagements, including IT separations, IT integrations, and technology due diligence projects, ensuring client expectations and quality standards are met.
• Managing and delivering projects of various sizes by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks, driving conclusions, and reviewing outputs.
• Developing strategies to solve complex technical challenges.
• Proactively managing a portfolio of clients.
• Training, coaching, and supervising staff.
• Managing the financial aspects of client projects.
• Leading business development activities to identify and research new and existing client opportunities.
• Enhancing technical skills for yourself and your team.

The skills & experience we're looking for:

• Experience in an IT role within financial services, or in the financial services industry, such as Banking, Payments, Insurance, or Asset & Wealth Management.
• OR experience in IT separation, IT integration, and/or technology due diligence.
• Knowledge of common IT application systems and infrastructure in financial services sectors.
• Ability to understand the impact of IT on business operations, especially during transactions.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging with senior business leaders on technology issues.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to build evidence-based analyses even with incomplete information.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage ambiguity to deliver results.
• Understanding of financial analysis and key drivers of financial information.
