Job summary

Core Group is seeking an experienced LV/AP Tester for site-based work across Central and West London. You will perform LV electrical inspections and testing on large commercial fit-out and data centre projects, ensuring energisation, commissioning and accurate documentation.

The role requires BS7671, City & Guilds 2391, and a valid ECS/JIB card, with strong independence and collaboration skills. Excellent long-term career prospects and a competitive package are offered.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) in Inspection & Testing.
• Current BS7671 Wiring Regulations qualification (18th Edition or equivalent).
• Previous LV/AP Tester experience on live commercial projects.
• Experience in commercial fit-out and/or data centre environments.
• Strong LV electrical systems knowledge and safe energisation practices.
• Valid ECS/JIB Electrician Card.
• Good knowledge of electrical installation standards and health & safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

LV/AP Tester (Site-Based)

Location: Central & West London

Salary: Up to £70,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Healthcare + Bonus + Pension + Travel

The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced LV/AP Testers to join a leading electrical engineering team working across major commercial fit-out and data centre projects in Central and West London.

The successful candidates will have a strong background in electrical inspection and testing, with previous experience carrying out the LV/AP Tester role on live construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical inspection and testing of LV electrical installations.
• Undertake energisation and de-energisation activities in accordance with authorised procedures.
• Complete electrical testing, certification and associated documentation accurately.
• Ensure all testing and installation works comply with BS7671 Wiring Regulations and company procedures.
• Follow safe systems of work and maintain the highest standards of health and safety.
• Assist with fault finding, verification and commissioning of electrical installations.
• Work closely with engineers, supervisors, commissioning teams and other site personnel.
• Support the successful delivery of major commercial fit-out and data centre projects.
• Maintain accurate records of testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure all work is completed to the required quality, safety and compliance standards.

Requirements

• City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) in Inspection & Testing.
• Current BS7671 Wiring Regulations qualification (18th Edition or equivalent).
• Previous experience working specifically as an LV/AP Tester.
• Proven experience carrying out electrical inspection and testing on commercial projects.
• Experience within commercial fit-out and/or data centre environments.
• Strong understanding of LV electrical systems, testing procedures and safe energisation practices.
• Valid ECS/JIB Electrician Card.
• Good knowledge of electrical installation standards and health & safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
• Strong communication, organisational and documentation skills.

Desirable

• Existing LV Authorised Person (AP) experience.
• Previous experience on large-scale commercial fit-out projects.
• Data centre experience.
• Experience working on complex LV systems and commissioning environments.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
