Job summary

Guardian Jobs represents a well-established, family-run business in Glasgow seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator / QS to join their team. The role covers a range of residential projects, with duties including cost estimates, Bills of Quantities and cost planning.

You will prepare tender submissions, manage quotations, and monitor project costs while liaising with clients and designers. A full-time, on-site position in Glasgow with a competitive salary awaits the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in quantity surveying or estimating within residential construction.
• Strong commercial awareness and client-facing skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Ability to read architectural and structural drawings.
• Proficient in Excel and cost modelling.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Measure drawings and produce Bills of Quantities.
• Carry out digital take-offs from drawings.
• Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Produce project budgets and cost plans.
• Monitor project costs and profitability.
• Assist with procurement of subcontractors and materials.
