Job summary

Recruitment Helpline Ltd is seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator / Quantity Surveyor for a residential sector role in Glasgow. You will handle cost estimation, tender submissions, BOQs, and cost management on high-end renovations, extensions, and new-builds, while maintaining strong client communication.

The role offers diverse, design-and-build projects with a focus on quality, value, and client satisfaction. A full-time, permanent position based in Glasgow with potential for progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in quantity surveying or estimating within residential construction.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to read architectural and structural drawings.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience pricing extensions, renovations or new-build housing.
• Strong Excel and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Measure drawings and produce Bills of Quantities.
• Carry out digital take-offs from architectural and structural drawings.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Produce project budgets and cost plans.
• Monitor project costs and profitability.
• Price variations and additional works on live projects.
• Assist with procurement of subcontractors and materials.
• Prepare interim valuations and final accounts.
• Develop estimating systems, templates and cost databases.
• Meet clients to discuss projects and aspirations.
• Present quotations and commercial proposals to clients.
