Job summary

THE NICI Collection is seeking a Maintenance & Facilities Technician to join our Engineering team. This hands-on role maintains hotel facilities and equipment, performing planned and reactive repairs across bedrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.

You will work with the Maintenance Manager on safety, repairs, and smaller projects while liaising with contractors. The role may include weekend and bank holiday shifts to keep properties safe and well-presented.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, engineering, facilities or property-based roles.
• Good all-round maintenance and repair skills.
• Experience with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and decorating.
• Problem-solving skills and practical approach to fixes.
• Ability to prioritise urgent maintenance tasks and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day maintenance and repairs throughout the property.
• Respond to maintenance requests and faults promptly.
• Carry out general repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and decorating.
• Regularly check bedrooms, public areas, plant areas and back-of-house facilities.
• Support with planned preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and disruption.
• Investigate faults and identify causes of maintenance issues.
• Repair fixtures, fittings, furniture and hotel equipment as needed.
• Assist with large maintenance projects and refurbishment work.
• Liaise with contractors and manage on-site works when required.
• Keep tools, equipment and work areas clean and safe.
• Record completed jobs and raise follow-up work as required.
• Identify issues early and raise concerns before they become problems.
