Job summary

Hermès, via John Lobb’s Northampton Factory Shop, seeks a Store Manager to lead day‑to‑day store operations, stock control and customer service. You will supervise Factory Shop staff, manage stock, process orders and deliver premium aftercare while maintaining GDPR compliance.

You will report to the EME Sales Director, work with the European Commercial team, and drive sales targets through exceptional service and product knowledge.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a retail background, at a managerial level.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Excellent spoken communication skills.
• Spirit of co-operation within and between departments; ability to create a friendly environment.
• Responsible and conscientious attitude; organized, rigorous and ability to work with autonomy.
• Not afraid of physical work.
• Good knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel).
• Experience of retail administration. A basic understanding of CRM, databases is essential.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers and offer advice on shoes, shoe care and accessories; provide excellent service and maximise sales.
• Coordinate and manage bi yearly sales events; ensure stock is prepared and bookings communicated.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of John Lobb products and benefits.
• Keep displays fresh and aligned with visual merchandising guidelines.
• Handle customer queries and correspondence including opening times and stock.
• Process internal employee orders and maintain records per internal rules.
• Monitor sales trends and propose initiatives to meet monthly targets; support CRM efforts.
• Train new staff and ensure GDPR compliance for customer data.
