Job summary

The Newt in Somerset’s Botanical Rooms is hiring a waiter/waitress to deliver refined service in a luxury dining setting at Hadspen House. You will manage 5–8 tables, perform mise-en-place, and accompany guests through food, wine, and beverages with knowledge of menus and provenance.

Driving license recommended; 40 hours over 5 days including evenings and weekends, with access to gym, spa, and staff discounts as part of a supportive estate team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a waiting role within luxury dining.
• Barista and wine service experience is advantageous.
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation.
• Interest in developing a career in Food & Beverage.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent service while confidently managing 5–8 tables.
• Complete mise-en-place to high standards.
• Provide full table service across food, wine, beverages, Afternoon Tea, coffees and teas.
• Build strong knowledge of menus, ingredients and provenance, sharing this with guests.
• Collaborate with restaurant, hotel and wider Estate teams.

Skills

Prior experience in waiting role

Barista and wine service (WSET1 a plus
