Job summary

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester seeks a Research Portfolio Manager to lead the Lung Research Team portfolio, oversee feasibility assessments, and ensure timely initiation of clinical trials in line with NIHR targets. The role includes direct line management of trial coordination staff, recruitment and HR oversight, and development of quality, financial and data systems across the division.

Advanced knowledge of clinical trials/GCP.

Responsibilities

Provide direct line management for research coordination and administrative staff within the team.
Oversee recruitment, retention, disciplinary and grievance processes for the assigned team.
Ensure annual performance reviews and development needs are identified and implemented.
Lead training and development of non-clinical staff across the Research Division.
Manage trial feasibility, initiation, and delivery of new and existing trials.
Coordinate financial management, including contracts with sponsors and invoicing.
Ensure data capture quality and timely reporting for trials, and develop team reporting mechanisms.
