Job summary

The Arbours Primary Academy in Northampton is seeking a motivated midday supervisor to support pupils during lunch. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, positive environment and enforcing the school’s behaviour policy. You will work with a team to supervise dining and play areas, ensuring pupils’ welfare and confidentiality.

Part-time position: 6 hours 15 minutes per week, with Local Government Pension Scheme benefits and wellbeing programmes.

Qualifications

• Supervise pupils during the midday break and maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Support pupils with daily routines and follow the school discipline/behaviour policy.
• Handle confidential staff and pupil matters according to the head-teacher’s guidance.
• Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate duties and classroom safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist children during lunchtime, inside the school and in the playground.
• Maintain welfare and safety during the midday break and refer issues as needed.
• Keep matters confidential and report to the head-teacher or nominated representative.
• Set up and clear away dining areas, manage spillages, and ensure cleanliness.
• Monitor pupils to ensure they stay within bounds and safe on school premises.
• Record and respond to first aid incidents and health concerns as required.
• Coordinate dining and recreation time with colleagues to balance activities.
