Job summary

Southfield School is seeking a Midday Supervisory Assistant on a permanent basis to join our dedicated team. The role covers 1.5 hours per day during term time, supporting the busiest and most enjoyable part of the school day with lunchtime supervision and playtime activities.

You will help pupils with social interaction, safety and engagement, and training will be provided for any personal care tasks. Experience with Special Educational Needs is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Experience with children with Special Educational Needs is preferred but not essential.
• First aid qualification is advantageous but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with complex learning difficulties during lunchtime and playtime.
• Supervise children during outdoor play and in the dining room.
• Promote social interaction, independence and self-help skills.
• Provide personal care support where required.
• Ensure the safety, wellbeing and engagement of all pupils.
