Job summary

Banister Primary School in Southampton is seeking a Midday Supervisory Assistant (1:1 Support) to supervise a pupil at lunchtimes, support meals and promote positive behaviour in a calm, inclusive environment.

The role is 11:30am to 1:00pm, Monday to Friday, with safeguarding checks including Enhanced DBS. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, is patient, reliable, and a good team player, with experience supporting pupils with additional needs being desirable.

Qualifications

• Enjoys working with children and supporting their development.
• Patient and nurturing approach to pupil wellbeing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, flexible and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience of supporting pupils with additional needs or SEND is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the pupil with meals and lunchtime routines.
• Respond to minor incidents and report concerns in line with school procedures.
