Job summary

New Whittington Primary School in Chesterfield is seeking a caring Midday Supervisor to support pupils during lunch and playtimes. You will help supervise in the dining hall and outdoor areas, promote safe, inclusive behaviour, and contribute to a positive lunchtime experience for all children.

The role suits someone patient, reliable, and good at teamwork, with excellent communication. Training and safeguarding checks apply; previous experience is welcome but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow policies.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to safeguarding children.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during lunchtime, indoors and outdoors.
• Ensure the safety and welfare of all children at all times.
• Promote positive behaviour in line with school policy.
• Support children in dining hall and promote good table manners.
• Organise safe, inclusive play activities.
• Respond to minor accidents and report concerns.
• Collaborate with the school team to create a positive lunchtime experience.
