Job summary

St Patrick's Catholic Primary School is seeking a midday supervisor to support pupils during lunch and playtimes. You will supervise in the lunch area, playground and classrooms, encourage healthy eating, and report concerns to the class teacher.

The role focuses on health and safety, safeguarding, and helping pupils with routines and transitions during midday break. Experience with school policies and teamwork with staff is valued; training will be provided as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils in lunch area, playground and classrooms during lunch/play times.
• Encourage pupils to eat lunch and monitor those who don’t, reporting concerns to the class teacher.
• Manage pupils' entrance and exit from the lunch area in an orderly manner.
• Clean up food and water spillages; monitor the tray cleaning area.
• Observe pupils for health and safety risks; deliver first aid for minor incidents.
• Record incidents following the school’s reporting procedures; support pupils with dietary needs.
• Report serious misbehavior to relevant staff; act to minimise disruption.
• Organise play activities and help resolve conflicts during play.
• Ensure pupils remain on premises during midday break; follow safeguarding procedures.
• Read and follow relevant school policies; undertake required training."],
