Job summary

Teaching Personnel is working with a welcoming primary school in Exmouth, Devon, seeking a dedicated Mealtime Assistant to join their team. You will support pupils during lunchtime, ensuring safety, wellbeing and enjoyment while promoting positive behaviour and social interaction.

The role is term-time only, with lunchtime supervision in dining hall and outdoor areas, and opportunities to gain experience within local schools.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
• Friendly, approachable and patient manner.
• Strong communication skills.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Able to promote positive behaviour and inclusion.
• Enjoys working as part of a team.
• Committed to safeguarding and supporting children's wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Supervising pupils in the dining hall and outdoor areas.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and social interactions.
• Supporting children during meal times where required.
• Promoting a safe and inclusive environment.
• Assisting with playground supervision and activities.
• Managing minor incidents and reporting concerns to relevant staff.
• Working as part of a supportive school team.
