Job summary

Victoria Road Primary School in Plymouth is seeking a Mealtime Assistant to help create a safe, friendly lunchtime for children. You will supervise in the dining hall and playground, promote positive behaviour and healthy habits, and support safeguarding and wellbeing.

We value caring, calm team players who can work flexibly with pupils and staff. A First Aid qualification is advantageous, and previous school experience is helpful but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or volunteering in similar settings.
• Caring, calm and friendly manner.
• Understanding safeguarding and confidentiality is important.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils in the dining hall and playground.
• Promote positive behaviour and safe play.
• Encourage good manners, healthy eating and hygiene.
• Support children to engage positively with peers.
• Assist with minor first aid incidents and report concerns appropriately.
• Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming lunchtime environment.
• Support safeguarding and wellbeing responsibilities.
