Teaching Personnel Ltd. in Exeter is seeking a dedicated Mealtime Assistant to join a welcoming primary school from November.

This term-time only role involves supervising pupils in the dining hall and outdoor areas, encouraging positive behaviour and providing support during lunch periods. You will work Monday to Friday during lunchtimes, supporting safe, inclusive play and lunchtime routines, reporting concerns to staff as needed, and helping children enjoy a calm, friendly mealtime.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication skills are required to interact with pupils, staff and parents.
• Reliability and punctuality are essential in a school environment.
• Friendly, approachable and patient manner is important for supporting children's wellbeing.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during lunchtime in the dining hall and outdoor areas.
• Encourage positive behaviour and social interactions among pupils.
• Support children during meal times as required.
• Promote a safe and inclusive lunchtime environment.
• Assist with playground supervision and activities as needed.
• Manage minor incidents and report concerns to relevant staff.
