Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a lunchtime supervisor for St Leonard's Church of England Primary Academy in Swindon. The role covers one hour at lunchtime, supervising pupils in the dining hall, playground and indoor spaces, and promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing.

Experience with primary-age children is desirable; full training will be provided. The position runs to 31 August 2027 and does not offer visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Confident working with children across the primary age range.
• Understanding of safeguarding and children's safety.
• Good communication and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.
• Reliable, punctual and responsible.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils safely across dining hall, playground and indoor areas at lunchtime.
• Enforce behaviour expectations and lunchtime routines fairly.
• Encourage positive play, cooperation and respectful behaviour.
• Respond to safeguarding concerns and report promptly.
• Assist with meals and promote table manners and healthy eating.
• Monitor playground, engage with children and promote inclusive play.
• Follow school procedures for behaviour, safeguarding, first aid and health and safety.
• Keep dining and play areas tidy and safe; liaise with teachers on lunchtime concerns.
