Job summary

Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking a Lunchtime Supervisor to help run daily lunchtime routines, encourage pupils to try new foods, and oversee behaviour during lunch hour. The role runs Monday to Friday, term time only, and offers a supportive environment with training provided.

You will work as part of a school catering team, be expected to maintain a safe, positive lunch hour, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Calm under pressure and able to build respectful relationships with adults and pupils.
• Basic food safety knowledge (training provided).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lunchtime routines to ensure smooth operation.
• Encourage pupils to eat and try new foods.
• Monitor pupil behaviour and ensure a safe, enjoyable environment.
• Collaborate with catering staff and school team as needed.
