Job summary

Woodlea Primary Academy in a woodland setting is seeking a calm, caring and friendly individual to work with children. You will need to be confident with pupils, have good communication skills, a calm manner and the ability to work well in a team to support learning and wellbeing.

Previous experience is helpful but training will be given; the role involves supervising lunch and outdoor activities, assisting with basic first aid, behaviour support, and helping maintain a safe and inclusive

Qualifications

• Calm, caring and friendly approach with children
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Understanding of child safeguarding and confidentiality
• Previous experience with children is welcome but training provided

Responsibilities

• Supervise children in lunch hall, classroom or outside
• Assist with duties; tidy spillages, clean tables, maintain hygiene
• Encourage good behaviour and healthy eating
• Support children with play and activities
• Administer basic first aid (training provided) and record incidents
• Support children with complex or medical needs
• Work outdoors to support outdoor learning
• Follow school policies and keep records
• Keep children motivated and engaged
• Maintain a calm but firm approach and be flexible
