Job summary

Beechdale Nursery School in Consett, Co Durham is seeking a dedicated person to supervise pupils during lunchtimes. The role requires experience with children, teamwork, and willingness to undertake training.

The successful candidate will supervise lunch-time activities, help with cleaning and setting tables, and ensure good pupil behaviour in line with the school policy. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for appointment.

7.5 hours per week (11:15-12:45- Mon-Fri)

The Governors would like to appoint an enthusiastic and committed person to supervise pupils during the lunch time period.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with children, be flexible, be able to work well within a team and be willing to undertake training.

Duties include supervising children during lunchtimes in school and in key worker rooms, clear up spillages in the lunch area, set tables and chairs, wipe down and maintain general cleanliness of the lunch area, communicate effectively with pupils, maintaining good behaviour according to the school’s behaviour policy.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

This position is paid whole time with retainer adjustments applied to periods of school closure. You will not be required to work during the school closure periods however your salary in these periods will be adjusted accordingly in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement.
