Job summary

Dyke House Academy in Tees Valley is seeking a dedicated Lunchtime Supervisor to support pupils during the midday break. You will supervise meals, assist at the serving counter, and help maintain a tidy dining and play area.

Working under the Principal's guidance, you will promote a safe, positive environment, manage behaviour in line with academy policy, and respond to minor incidents in accordance with GDPR and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively under the direction of teaching staff and liaise professionally with colleagues.

• Background checks including an enhanced DBS check are required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision & Support: Escort pupils to and from the dining area, assist them at the serving counter, and ensure tables and packed‑lunch areas are kept clean.
• Behaviour & Welfare: Maintain suitable behaviour standards in line with academy policy, help children develop social skills, and monitor pupil well‑being.
• Health & Safety: Attend to minor accidents or illness, follow health and safety requirements, and adhere to GDPR and data protection guidelines.
• Safeguarding: Actively follow the trust's safeguarding and child protection policies, recognising and reporting any concerns to the designated safeguarding lead/Principal.
