Job summary

Blenheim Schools is seeking a Lunchtime Supervisor to help make lunchtime a safe, enjoyable part of the school day. You will supervise dining hall and playground, support positive behaviour and encourage inclusive play.

You will work with pupils to promote wellbeing, independence and good manners, report concerns, and keep dining and play areas clean and safe. A friendly, patient approach and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Friendly, patient and caring approach.

• Good safeguarding awareness and child welfare.
• Reliable, proactive attitude with calm response to situations.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunchtime in dining hall and playground, ensuring safety and wellbeing.
• Encourage positive behaviour, good table manners and independence, offering help during meals.
• Organise safe and orderly movement between dining areas, classrooms and playgrounds.
• Encourage inclusive games and play to help students make friends.
• Respond calmly to incidents, accidents or disagreements and report concerns.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe dining and play environment.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety procedures and work with colleagues to support individual needs.

Are you friendly, caring and enthusiastic about working with children? Do you enjoy encouraging positive behaviour, supporting young people and creating an environment where everyone feels included? At Hydesville Tower School, we're looking for a reliable and approachable Lunchtime Supervisor to help make lunchtime an enjoyable, safe and positive part of every student's school day. From supporting students in the dining hall to encouraging play and friendships in the playground, you'll play an important role in promoting wellbeing, independence and positive relationships.

What you will be doing

• Supervise students during lunchtime, both in the dining hall and playground, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
• Encourage positive behaviour, good table manners and independence, offering practical support during mealtimes when needed.
• Organise safe and orderly movement between dining areas, classrooms and playgrounds.
• Encourage inclusive games and play activities, helping students develop friendships and enjoy their break.
• Respond calmly to incidents, accidents or disagreements, providing appropriate support and reporting concerns.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe environment, ensuring dining areas and play equipment are ready for use.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school procedures, working closely with colleagues to support students' individual needs.

• Desirable: Previous experience working with young children or in an educational setting, and a First Aid qualification.
