Job summary

Castleford Three Lane Ends Academy is seeking a friendly Lunchtime Supervisor to create a safe, welcoming lunchtime environment for pupils. You will supervise pupils, assist in the dining hall, and encourage social activity to build confidence and positive social skills.

The role emphasises safeguarding, kindness, and promoting high standards of behaviour within a supportive academy community.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils throughout lunchtime, maintaining a safe and positive environment.
• Assist in the dining hall, helping with cutlery use and opening food packaging.
• Encourage participation in social games and activities to build confidence and social skills.
• Provide pastoral support and encourage kindness, good behaviour, self-discipline and mutual respect.
• Positively challenge inappropriate behaviour and report concerns as per Academy procedures.
• Remain vigilant to pupil wellbeing and report safeguarding concerns promptly.
• Support the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all pupils.

About this Role

Are you caring, approachable and passionate about helping children have a happy and positive experience at school?

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisor to join our team and help create a safe, welcoming and enjoyable lunchtime environment for our pupils.

This is an important role within our Academy. You will help ensure that children feel supported, included and safe, while encouraging positive behaviour, good manners and opportunities to play, socialise and develop friendships.

As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will:

• Supervise pupils throughout the lunchtime period, helping to maintain a safe and positive environment.
• Support children in the dining hall, including helping them develop basic skills such as using cutlery and opening food packaging.
• Encourage pupils to take part in social games and activities, helping them to develop confidence and positive social skills.
• Provide pastoral support and encourage kindness, good behaviour, self-discipline, good manners and mutual respect.
• Positively challenge inappropriate behaviour and ensure any concerns are reported in line with Academy procedures.
• Remain vigilant to the wellbeing of pupils and report any safeguarding concerns promptly through the appropriate Academy procedures.
• Play an important part in supporting the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all pupils.

About You

You do not necessarily need previous experience. A positive attitude and the ability to build warm, professional relationships with children are just as important.
