Job summary

The Grange School in Levenshulme, Manchester, is seeking a Lunchtime Organiser to supervise pupils, promote healthy eating and assist with personal care during lunch periods.

You will run engaging lunchtime activities and clubs, cooperate with teachers and support staff to ensure pupil wellbeing, and help pupils build positive relationships. This is a permanent term-time role, 10 hours/week, with a starting salary of £6,229; full-time equivalent £26,016.

Job description

As a Lunchtime Organiser, you will play an important role in supporting pupils throughout the lunchtime period. Responsibilities include supervising pupils during lunch and recreation, supporting healthy eating, assisting with personal care needs where required, and helping to run engaging lunchtime activities and clubs.

• Supporting pupils in the dining hall and around the school site.
• Assisting with feeding, toileting, changing and handwashing where required.
• Encouraging independence, social interaction and positive behaviour.
• Leading and supporting lunchtime clubs and activities, such as sports, arts and sensory activities.
• Providing care and reassurance to pupils who are unwell or have minor accidents.
• Working alongside teachers and support staff to ensure pupils' wellbeing and safety.
• Supporting the safe use of specialist equipment following appropriate training.
• Enjoy working with children and young people.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Can build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Are patient, flexible and resilient.

The Grange School in Levenshulme, Manchester, provides 247 day places for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). This is a permanent position working 10 hours per week, term time only. The starting salary is £6,229 and the full time equivalent is £26,016 Grade 2.
