Job summary

Chailey Heritage Foundation is seeking a Lunchtime Education Assistant to support children and young people with complex physical disabilities during lunchtime. The role is onsite at North Chailey (BN8 4EF), 15 hours per week, term time only, with salary of £13.90 per hour (£9,381 pro rata).

You will assist with personal care, promote independence, and help children participate in activities, while adhering to safeguarding and induction training requirements.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and proactive approach to supporting children with complex needs.
• Team player with good relationships and communication.
• Comfortable with hands-on personal care and basic tech use.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, hygiene and mealtime routines.
• Engage pupils in social play and activities to promote interaction.
• Prepare and tidy lunch areas and support dietary/sensory needs.
• Support mobility and learning activities during lunchtime.
• Advocate for children, respecting individuality and confidence.
