Job summary

Hackajob Ltd, in partnership with DXC Technology, seeks an LTIS Gamecock Barracks Engineer for a client site in Warwickshire. The role requires SC clearance, strong customer service ethos and hands-on IT infrastructure delivery in a secure environment.

You will work onsite, liaising with multiple stakeholders, ensuring ITIL-aligned incident management and timely resolutions while maintaining MoD-compliant practices.

Qualifications

  • SC clearance essential
  • Experience dealing with people at all levels within a military environment
  • Deep customer domain knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills

  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to troubleshoot remotely
  • At least 3 years in an IT support organisation
  • Strong ITIL incident management understanding including SLAs
  • Experience researching complex issues
  • Self-motivated with focus on customer service
  • Understanding of network design/topology
  • Hands-on onsite delivery under pressure to meet customer quality
  • In-depth project delivery experience with MoD guidelines and standards
  • Demonstrable configuration management experience
  • Desirable: LAN, WAN, 4G, WiFi Ethernet, ADSL, FTTC, SOGEA; understanding of core networks, circuit mapping, VLANs

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site implementation and support for technical infrastructure for end user training systems within a secure environment
  • Advise and assist in solving problems related to hardware, networks and peripherals
  • Analyse system needs and troubleshoot problems
  • Deploy updates and roll-outs
  • Utilise knowledge of customer estate topography, hardware, software and operating systems
  • Understand customer goals and identify consequences of various solutions
  • Develop project installation and escalation plans
  • Communicate technical solutions with simple explanations
  • Use on-site visits to identify and report new business opportunities
  • Deliver software, hardware and infrastructure projects from changes to new site deliveries
  • Work as part of a small team on complex business issues
  • Complete a wide variety of internal and customer-facing tasks
  • Support complex bespoke client systems including training, audio/visual, networking and telephony
  • Project the right image

Job description

Salary: £85,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require SC clearance for this secure environment.
  • We are looking for someone with a wealth of experience dealing with people at all levels within a military environment.
  • We need deep customer domain knowledge and experience.
  • We require excellent interpersonal communication skills, a positive and engaging manner, and a high degree of customer service aptitude.
  • We need demonstrable experience and fluent command of the English language.
  • We require excellent organisational skills and the ability to troubleshoot remotely using a variety of toolsets.
  • We are looking for at least 3 years of experience in an IT support organisation.
  • We require a strong understanding of ITIL incident management, including upholding SLAs and communicating with customers.
  • We need experience researching complex issues.

  • We require a good understanding of network design and topology.
