Job summary

Protocol Education Limited in Colchester is seeking a dedicated LSA/TA, Learning mentor, or Support worker to start ASAP. The role supports students with Moderate to Severe needs in a thriving specialist setting, in a full-time, 8:30am–3:30pm timetable.

No prior school experience is required, and graduates, care workers, healthcare assistants, youth workers or those with personal experience are welcome to apply. DBS checks and safeguarding training are provided.

Responsibilities

• Support students with MLD and SLD in small groups or 1:1 to raise attainment.
• Develop LSA skills through daily practice and guidance.
• Collaborate with parents to extend learning at home and ensure continuity.
• Build strong relationships with individual children to support engagement and progress.

This school is built around supporting the needs of children with Moderate and Severe needs.

The Role includes:

• Working 5 days a week within the school or college provision, supporting students with MLD and SLD in small groups or on a 1:1 basis to help improve engagement, interaction and raise attainment
• Learning and developing your LSA skills
• Working closely with parents to ensure what is carried out at school is continued at home
• A friendly and positive approach to teaching and learning, as well as the ability to quickly build up strong relationships and rapport with individual children

This is a full-time, temp to permanent opportunity (8:30am - 3:30pm).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
