Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Teaching Assistant in Torbay to support primary-aged children with SEN. The role involves providing practical and physical assistance, tailored classroom support, and promoting independence and positive behaviour across the primary age range.

The position starts in November on a long-term basis, with PAYE pay and a daily rate of £92.63–£95.00. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.

The school is looking for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant who can provide consistent support and help pupils with SEN feel safe, included and confident in their learning.

The school is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis from November. The successful Teaching Assistant will support pupils with SEN across different age groups, providing tailored classroom support and appropriate practical and physical assistance while promoting independence, engagement and positive behaviour.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children with SEN
• Experience working with primary-aged children
• Confidence providing appropriate practical and physical support where required
• A patient and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to adapt to the individual needs of pupils
