Westminster Communities of Florida in Winter Park, FL is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Assisted Living Department to provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents.

The role includes supervising CNAs, administering medications per physician orders, and collaborating with physicians on care plans. Florida LPN license and CPR certification are required, with long-term care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• CPR certification is required.
• One year of long-term care experience desirable; Med/Surg or Home Health experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Supervise CNAs as the Charge Nurse and ensure order adherence.
• Implement resident care based on physician orders and update as needed.
• Assist with resident evaluation and planning of care per orders.
• Ensure medication pass is completed according to doctor’s orders.
• Maintain the medication cart and audit PRN and controlled meds.
• Perform skin evaluations and monitor glucose, temp, and blood pressure.
• Assist residents with ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and transfers.

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE| Winter Park

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Supervise CNA's as the Charge Nurse; ensure that CNA's are following physician orders.
• Implement resident care based on physician orders. Evaluate care and communicate with doctors for updates of orders (PRN).
• Assist with the evaluation of residents for medical needs/changes. Assist with planning resident care based on physician orders.
• Ensure that residents are receiving their medication based on doctor’s orders/complete medication pass.
• Maintain the medication cart including audit procedures for PRN medication and controlled medicines as defined by the nursing standards.
• Perform skin evaluations and skin treatment as required by skin treatment protocols. Monitor blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure.
• Assist patients/residents with Activities of Daily Living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, toileting, and other resident needs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a License Practical Nurse.
• Must be CPR Certified.

Experience and Basic Knowledge:

One year of long term care desirable. Med/Surg, Home Health experience helpful. Also experience working with the handicapped, developmentally disabled, or older adults preferred.
