Westminster Communities of Florida in Winter Park, FL, is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse Supervisor to oversee nursing staff and ensure high-quality care in the Health Center. The RN will supervise daily activities, coordinate with families, physicians, and the broader care team, and report to the Director of Nursing.

Requirements include an active Florida RN license, CPR certification, and a minimum of one year in a supervisory role, preferably in long-term care.

Qualifications

  • Must be licensed in Florida as a Registered Nurse.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Minimum one year of supervision experience in long-term care or similar setting.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all floor nurses and staff to ensure care meets established standards.
  • Assist the ADON/DON with calculating daily staffing needs based on census.
  • Review doctor’s orders for new and current residents and ensure care aligns with orders.
  • Oversee and assist nurses performing resident assessments.
  • Coordinate care through communication with residents’ families, physicians, and other health care providers.
  • Manage family concerns related to residents’ care.
  • Update ADON/DON on important situations in the Health Center.
  • Enter admission orders in ECS for new residents.
  • Assist nurses with managing emergencies in the Health Center or independent living.
  • Request supplies from Central Supply as needed.

We are currently searching for a Registered Nurse Supervisor to work in the Health Center. In this role, the RN supervisor provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants and staff nurse in accordance with state and federal standards. This supervision may be required by the DON to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. This position reports to the Director of Nursing.

Schedule: Part-time position | 20-30 hours per week | EOW | 1st shift and 2nd shift available.

Essential position functions:

1. Supervise all floor nurses and staff members, to ensure that care is being provided based on established standards, provide conflict resolution to issues between staff members, and replace nurses that call-off or are no-call/no-show.

2. Assist the ADON/DON with calculating daily staffing needs based on census requirements.

3. Review doctor’s orders for new and current residents; ensure that care is being provided based on current orders.

4. Oversee and assist nurses performing resident assessments.

5. Coordinate care through communication with resident’s family members, physicians,and other health care providers.

6. Manage family concerns with resident’s care.

7. Update ADON/DON on important situations related to the residents or the HealthCenter.

8. Enter admission orders in ECS for new residents to the Health Center.

9. Assist nurses with managing emergencies in the Health Center or independent living.

10. Request supplies for the unit from the Central Supply.

Qualifications:

  • Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse.
  • Must be CPR Certified.

Experience:

  • One year of long term care desirable. Med-surg., Home Health, Emergency Room experience helpful. Also experience working with developmentally
    disabled adults.
  • A minimum of year as a supervisor is required.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to provide safe, compassionate, and quality nursing care to patients.
  • Ability to administer medications and treatments accurately and in accordance with physician orders.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language and understand and follow written and oral directions.
  • Ability to learn computer programs as defined by Westminster Communities of Florida
