Job summary

Calor Gas Ltd. is recruiting a Tank Operative at our Stoney Stanton site. The role is outdoor and hands-on, focused on safe movement, handling and processing of LPG tanks as part of a multi-skilled team.

You will be moving tanks, loading/unloading LPG vessels, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations while working with the Tank Yard Supervisor. PPE is provided and site rules apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial, yard, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and compliance.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor role as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail, especially with record-keeping and asset tracking.
• Ability to follow work instructions and operate equipment safely.
• Clear communicator with a positive, proactive attitude.
• Willingness and ability to obtain and hold a Counterbalance FLT licence.
• Experience with LPG vessels or hazardous materials.
• Understanding of occupational and process safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out LPG tank movements across the tank yard per site rules and traffic plans.
• Load, unload, and safely handle LPG vessels while complying with safety regulations.
• Operate machinery safely following manufacturer guidance and Calor work instructions.
• Segregate tanks and manage storage within the yard.
• Prepare LPG vessels for storage, refurbishment, or scrapping (de-hooding, gas-charging, steam cleaning).
• Manage inbound/outbound trailers and direct vehicles to bays.
• Conduct trailer load inspections for tank quality and safety compliance.
• Record LPG vessel serial numbers and report incidents through the safety system.
• Maintain high housekeeping, safety and organisation throughout shifts.
• Collaborate with Tank Yard Supervisor and operatives to ensure smooth operations.
