Job summary

Calor Gas Ltd is seeking a Terminal Jetty Operator at the Canvey Island Terminal. You will ensure safe operation of process plant and equipment supporting marine vessel import/export, LPG storage, and inland LPG export by road and pipeline networks.

The role requires monitoring and routine maintenance, adherence to COMAH regulations, and collaboration with the Shift Lead to meet production targets in a high-haz ard environment. A proactive safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• A wide range of practical skills.
• Technical process knowledge related to safety on upper-tier COMAH sites and ability to respond to abnormal situations.
• Ability to respond to environmental hazards and incidents with due care.
• Understanding or willingness to learn operational policies, procedures and safe working practices.
• Self-help approach to common work-related problems.
• Proficiency with IT and IS systems for day-to-day duties.
• Ability to follow the company’s performance management process and development.

Responsibilities

• Record and log plant operations, safety overrides, and defects.
• Present essential information clearly for handover to others.
• Be proactive in site operations and maintenance; support the Shift Lead.
• Carry out process isolations and act as site contact under Safe System of Work.
• Contribute to the development, review and update of emergency, safety and operational plans.
