A leading Richmond Preparatory School is seeking a dedicated KS1 Lower School Class Teacher for a permanent role commencing in September 2024. KS1 Lower School Class Teacher – Prep School – Permanent – Richmond – Sept 24

Post Title: KS1 Lower School Class Teacher – KS1 (Year 1 or 2)

Contract Schedule: Monday-Friday, Term-Time

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: MPS3-UPS3 – Outer London (Competitive – subject to experience)

Start Date: September 2024

Location: Richmond, London

We are recruiting an individual to join our dynamic team as a Lower School Class Teacher at our Richmond Preparatory School.

For the particular post, you need to have been teaching for a minimum of 2 years, so this role is not suitable for ECTs.

Key Skills

  • An ability to create a stimulating and safe learning environment
  • Excellent teaching and classroom management skills
  • An ability to plan, prepare and deliver engaging and excellent lessons
  • An ability to assess and record the progress of pupil’s learning to inform next steps and monitor progress
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff and parents

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will:

  • Qualified to degree level.
  • Achieved QTS
  • At least two years teaching experience
  • Experience in teaching phonics
  • Experience in applying a range of teaching strategies to meet different learning styles
  • Experience in leading school day trips
  • Experience in leading an extra-curricular club
  • Experience with and understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices in a school
