Norwich City Council is seeking a strategic energy infrastructure planner to develop and lead low carbon initiatives across council housing, operational buildings and the city.

The role involves coordinating with engineers, stakeholders and funders, bidding for funding, and delivering projects within a collaborative team. The post welcomes newly qualified candidates as well as those with more experience.

Formación

• Knowledge of electrical and/or heat energy systems or infrastructure.
• Experienced in delivering energy efficiency, decarbonisation or energy system projects.
• Experience in developing stakeholder relationships and working collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders.
• Experience of information management including acquiring, collating and analysing complex data and accurate record keeping.

Responsabilidades

• Lead on developing initiatives relating to decarbonisation of energy infrastructure in the council’s assets and city.
• Research, develop and recommend policies to accelerate low carbon infrastructure.
• Lead engagement with UK Power Networks and stakeholders to develop Local Area Energy Plan.
• Grow EV charging infrastructure for fleet and buildings and expand city charge points.
• Improve or replace heating networks including metering and billing for housing stock.
• Manage growth of low carbon heat networks and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Act as Heat Network Zone regulator when regulations come into force.
• Support deployment of smart meters, IOT, and digital energy management systems.
• Identify funding sources and develop business cases for low carbon investments.
