The Norwich Living Wage City Action Group is seeking an experienced energy/infrastructure planner to help shape the council’s decarbonisation and energy strategy across housing, buildings and the city. You will plan energy infrastructure for new and existing buildings, including solar PV, heat pumps and EV projects, collaborating with engineers and stakeholders such as UK Power Networks.

Formación

• Knowledge of electrical and/or heat energy systems or infrastructure.
• Experience delivering energy efficiency, decarbonisation or energy system projects.
• Experience developing stakeholder relationships and working across teams and with external stakeholders.
• Experience of information management including acquiring, collating and analysing complex data and accurate record keeping.

Responsabilidades

• Lead initiatives to decarbonise energy infrastructure across the council’s buildings and city.
• Develop policies and strategies to accelerate low carbon energy infrastructure.
• Lead with UK Power Networks to develop the city’s Local Area Energy Plan.
• Plan and implement EV charging infrastructure for fleet and buildings.
• Improve or replace heating networks, including metering and billing across social housing.
• Manage growth of low carbon heat networks and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Act as Heat Network Zone regulator under upcoming regulations.
• Support deployment of smart meters, IoT solutions and digital energy management.
• Identify funding sources and develop business cases for low carbon investments.
• Manage opportunities/risks related to climate change.
• Manage consultants to design, bid for funding and deliver projects.
• Liaise with councillors, MPs and external organisations; respond to FOIs.
• Increase awareness of climate change, fuel poverty, retrofitting and adaptation.
• Promote and implement council environmental strategies.
