Job summary

Morson is recruiting for an onsite welding/mechanical fitter role at Ruislip Depot. You will weld Rails to create 90m strings for TfL, operating in a workshop with occasional outdoor work. The team consists of five, led by a Team Leader and Chargehand, with training provided for crane experience and other machinery use.

The role follows 35 hours per week (Mon-Thu 07:30–15:30, Fri 07:30–12:30) with potential for a four-day week after training and an ongoing assignment in a non-hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Completed an engineering apprenticeship, NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience in welding.
• Experience in using mechanical equipment.
• Mechanical and electrical experience.
• Any crane experience is beneficial but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Welding Rails to produce 90m strings for TfL.
• Operate in a workshop and outdoors, with some outdoor work.
• Work with enclosed welding machinery; use other machinery and tools as required.
• Join a small team of five under a Team Leader and Chargehand.
• Option after training to move to a four-day week.

The successful candidate should have:
