Job summary

Academics Ltd is seeking a creative and committed Secondary Art Teacher for a long-term supply role in Wigan, starting immediately. You will plan, teach, and assess Art & Design across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 opportunities for specialists.

You will manage an art studio, deliver a full scheme of work, and mentor students through GCSE coursework and portfolio development, collaborating with the department to maintain high standards.

Qualifications

• UK QTS or QTLS with a degree in Fine Art, Art & Design, Graphic Design, or related visual arts discipline.
• Strong command of the UK National Curriculum for Art & Design across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE specifications.
• Studio management: safe handling of art materials and equipment; promote an inclusive, creative environment.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service and willing to work at a school in Wigan.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of planning, delivering, and assessing Art & Design lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Provide GCSE portfolio guidance, coursework development, and exam preparation support.
• Ensure full departmental integration and contribute to scheme of work delivery.
