Job summary

Academics Ltd. is seeking a Secondary Art Teacher for a long-term supply role in Wigan, starting immediately. You will teach Art & Design across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities for specialists) with full planning, delivery, and assessment responsibilities.

The role features ongoing departmental integration, GCSE portfolio development, and support from a local consultant. DBS enhanced is required; salary is paid weekly via a timesheet.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher status (QTS or QTLS) with a degree in Fine Art / Art & Design / Graphic Design.
• Strong command of the UK National Curriculum for Art & Design across KS3 & KS4 with GCSE exposure.
• Ability to manage art studio environments, equipment, and safety in a creative space.
• Enhanced DBS (Update Service) and ability to work in Wigan schools.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of planning, delivering and assessing Art & Design lessons across KS3/KS4 (KS5 for specialists).
• Secure ongoing timetable with full departmental integration at a Wigan secondary school.
• Teach drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, digital media, art history and contextual studies.
• Prepare students for GCSE portfolios, coursework and final exams per exam board criteria.
