Job summary

Two Sigma in London is seeking a senior leader to head Risk Engineering, building and mentoring an engineering team that owns platforms managing risk across the firm’s trading lifecycle. You will set technical standards, partner with risk analysts and portfolio managers, and drive architecture from data input through model forecasts to PnL.

You will lead by example, translate business requirements into robust, scalable solutions, and coordinate with the New York Risk Engineering team to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field.
• 7+ years experience; 10+ preferred, with 2+ years leading engineering teams.
• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders and handling varied requirements.
• Expertise building high-availability applications in Java or Python with hands-on design.
• Experience building systems on relational databases and web services.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding agents for software design.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering team in London: set standards, evaluate performance, plan career growth.
• Partner with Risk analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions.
• Lead by example with hands-on design and development of robust systems.
• Develop roadmap for Risk Engineering platforms in coordination with New York leadership.
• Drive execution with milestones and high quality delivery across projects.
• Collaborate with New York Risk Engineering team to ensure clear ownership and day-to-day alignment.
