Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) Information is seeking a Lead Java Engineer to join the CDSClear Risk Development team. You will own core risk-engine components, translate analytic requirements into scalable production systems, and drive architectural evolution in a regulated financial services environment.

You will lead design and implementation across the SDLC, collaborating with infrastructure and DevOps to deliver reliable, high-performance risk calculations in production.

Qualifications

• Strong server-side Java engineering experience (Java 11+; Java 17+ preferred) using Spring / Spring Boot.
• Ability to understand quantitative models and make informed implementation trade-offs.
• Experience shaping risk-engine architecture for computationally intensive models.
• Understand enterprise platform concerns: performance, resilience, auditability.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Lead Java Engineer within the CDSClear Risk Development team, contributing across all stages of the SDLC.
• Design, implement and evolve core risk-engine components for intraday and overnight margin calculations.
• Translate analytic requirements into production-grade system behavior for risk models.
• Own delivery of business requirements through development, testing and controlled production release.
• Drive evolution of the risk platform with architectural changes while ensuring delivery and quality.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security and DevOps to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Participate in third-line system support, including out-of-hours rota when required.
