Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is seeking a Critical Services Mechanical Engineer (HVAC & Legionella Qualified) in London. You will maintain mechanical, HVAC and water treatment systems in a business-critical environment, adhering to Safe Systems of Work and regulatory standards.

You'll lead water hygiene monitoring and contractor oversight, ensuring compliant operations and timely issue resolution within live plant rooms, with 12-hour rotating shifts and on-call support.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining HVAC plant, water systems and related equipment.
• Legionella risk awareness and water hygiene control knowledge.
• F-Gas refrigeration systems and electrical safety understanding.
• Experience with CMMS documentation and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance and fault-finding on HVAC and mechanical plant.
• Conduct water hygiene monitoring, Legionella risk assessments, and TMV servicing.
• Manage contractors for water treatment and Legionella remediation; document in CMMS.
• Diagnose faults in refrigerant systems (split, VRF/VRV, DX) and chilled water circuits.
• Issue Permits to Work and mechanical isolation certificates per Safe Systems of Work.
• Perform LOTO procedures and maintain isolation registers.
• Maintain logs of work completed and outstanding items in CMMS.
• Ensure compliance with CBRE, client and statutory safety requirements; supervise inductions.
