Job description

Newgate is a local independent company designing and selling stylish clocks, homewares, and eyewear. From our base in Oswestry, we sell directly to customers online, including through Amazon, and supply a range of trade partners, from independents to major retailers. We’re a close knit, hands on team who work collaboratively and aren’t afraid to muck in wherever needed.

We’re looking for a bright, well organised and adaptable person to join our small logistics and supply chain team. This is primarily an office based role, but you’ll also spend a regular part of your time in the warehouse, particularly during busy periods and container deliveries, helping to manage stock and keep things moving. You’ll need to be equally comfortable behind a spreadsheet as you are rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in.

Your day to day will involve:

  1. Coordinating customer orders
  2. Managing incoming and outgoing deliveries
  3. Updating stock records
  4. Liaising with the warehouse team
  5. Ensuring smooth warehouse operations
  6. Checking and inputting orders
  7. Chasing couriers
  8. Dealing with unexpected issues
  9. Physically assisting with unloading containers

You’ll need to be someone who notices the details, keeps things organised, and stays calm when things get busy. We’re looking for someone who’s practical, quick thinking, confident with Microsoft Excel, and naturally tidy and thorough in how they work. You need the right attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work well both in a team and independently. Some experience in an office or logistics environment is required.

It is a varied and rewarding role in a busy e-commerce and wholesale business, with 28 days holiday (including bank holidays), plus a holiday loyalty scheme, onsite parking, and a friendly team where your input will genuinely make a difference. Salary will reflect your skills, experience and what you bring to the role.

The role is based at our HQ in Oswestry, operating between 08:30 and 17:00, Monday to Friday. We’re open to both full time and part time applicants. Start date will be as soon as we find the right candidate for the role.
